It Is Not True that the Russians Announced the Destruction of 830 Ukrainian Combat Vehicles in One Day

What is stated in the title of the text, shared in the post we are reviewing, is not true: “The Russians announced: 830 Ukrainian combat vehicles destroyed in one day”. The figure refers to the beginning of Russia’s military invasion of Ukraine, which can be seen from the report of the Russian Ministry of Defense published on September 10. Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, and almost seven months have passed since then, writes Truthmeter.mk.

We are reviewing a Facebook post in which an article is shared, the title of which states: “The Russians announced: 830 Ukrainian combat vehicles destroyed in one day”.

However, already in the first paragraph of the text, it is said that the Russian Ministry of Defense announced on Saturday that

Already 830 Ukrainian combat vehicles with multiple missile launch systems have been destroyed during the Russian special military operation.

The source of the text and the title convey different information. The title says 830 Ukrainian combat vehicles were destroyed in one day, and in the text, it is stated that those 830 combat vehicles were destroyed “during the Russian special military operation”.

The article goes on to cite a report by the Russian military department and lists that the alleged destroyed military equipment is 293 aircraft, 152 helicopters, 1,929 drones, 374 anti-aircraft missile systems, 4,870 tanks and other armored fighting vehicles, 830 combat vehicles with multiple launch missile systems, 3,375 field artillery weapons and five mortar units on special military vehicles.

Truthmeter accessed the official website of the Ministry of Defense of Russia to the report to which the text in the post we are reviewing refers. The report was published on Saturday, September 10, 2022. In the report itself, the Russian Ministry of Defense writes in the last paragraph that the military equipment was destroyed “during the special military operation”, that is, the above-cited figures refer to the beginning of the military invasion until today, and not for one day, as falsely claimed in the article from the post we are reviewing.

Hence, we assess that what is stated in the title of the text, shared in the post we are reviewing, is not true. The number refers to the beginning of Russia’s military invasion of Ukraine. Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, and almost seven months have passed since then.
